With BlizzCon 2018 only two weeks away, the hype for everything Blizzard Entertainment is at an all time high right now. The Diablo series in particular has garnered a lot of attention this year, with the BlizzCon schedule being worked around the franchise as well as the recently announced Diablo III Eternal Collection for the Nintendo Switch. The company’s other games are also starting to gain some traction on the hype train, as some major surprises could be awaiting us at the Opening Announcement of the event.
Speaking of which, Blizzard has been releasing some of the BlizzCon Digital Goodies that are promised those who are attending the convention, or watching at home via Virtual Ticket. Overwatch was the first to get theirs, which was a Demon Hunter skin for the enigmatic hacker, Sombra. Heroes of the Storm was next as they received the Nexus Razorgrin Mount, which is a mechanical shark mount on water, a spray of the mount, and a BlizzCon 2018 banner.
World of Warcraft’s came after which consisted of two special banners, Stormwind Champion’s War Banner and Orgrimmar Hero’s War Banner, as well as two cloaks, War Mantle of the Alliance and War Mantle of the Horde. In addition, all Virtual Ticket owners will be able to download and play the World of Warcraft Classic Demo, marking the first time ever that a demo on convention floor is being readily made available for people at home. Hearthstone got a special BlizzCon 2018 Card Pack, which contains 10 card packs from classic sets, including The Witchwood, Kobolds and Catacombs, Knights of the Frozen Throne, and Journey to Un’Goro.
Most recently, StarCraft II and StarCraft Remastered got their digital goodies, which came in the form of a control console and special skins.For StarCraft Remastered, players will get the special BlizzCon 2018 Console skin, which is the players Heads Up Display (HUD) in the game, and is outfitted with an Umojan layer and changes colors during matches. StarCraft II veterans will receive a nice treat as they will likely recognize the new Classic Skins made for workers which are based on the Brood War expansion from the original game. Lastly, players will get a special portrait that fuses all three main races into one weird, nasty picture.
