In the spirit of Diablo IV latest season, aptly titled “Season of Blood,” Blizzard is asking fans to donate blood in exchange for in-game rewards, as well as the potential for a sweepstakes for a PC infused with real human blood.
In a post from October 20, 2023, Blizzard declares the start of a real life “Blood Harvest,” the term used in Diablo for vampire rituals during the Season of Blood. Although the vampires might acquire the blood by stealing the life out of Sanctuary innocents to fuel the rituals, players’ blood will not be used for such evil deeds. From October 20 till November 20, those over the age of 18 in the United States are asked to help save lives by going to any blood donation center to give blood and log their contribution through the official site for the event. Besides giving back to a physical community, those who give blood will help the Diablo IV in-game community unlock rewards. The more blood donated, the more prizes all players will receive!
The overall goal is to reach 666 quarts of donated blood. Certain cosmetics will be released at the 33%, 66% and 100% milestones. In addition, hitting the goal will launch a sweepstakes with the grand prize of a custom liquid-cooled PC infused with real human blood. All players over 18 years old within the United States will be entered to win, even if they were unable to donate blood. Further details, rules and requirements for the PC will be shared if the goal is reached. Blizzard’s post elaborates that, besides human blood, the PC will contain the following:
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090
- Intel Core i9 CPU
- 64GB of DDR5 RAM
- 3 TB SSD Storage
- Quantum Vector GPU Waterblock
The following rewards will be unlocked for all Diablo IV players at Tier 1–33% of the goal:
- Dagger: Bloodpetal Anlace
- Axe: Bloodpetal Sever
- Necromancer Focus: Bloodpetal Heart
- Sword: Bloodpetal Blade
- Druid Staff: Bloodpetal Bludgeon
At Tier 2, 66% of the goal, players will unlock the previous tier as well as the following:
- The Loch Raeth Maor Barbarian Armor Cosmetic
At Tier 3, 100% of the goal, players will unlock both previous tiers as well as the following:
- The Vermillion Eye Piebald Mount
- The sweepstakes for the PC
