Another season, another special event for Blizzards popular MOBA, Heroes of the Storm. However, this time the company is upping the ante with the rewards, and the challenge. Everyone get ready to defy the Raven Lord, as Blizzard has announced that the newest event, titled The Fall of the Kings Crest, will launch on Tuesday, September 25.

The Fall of the Kings Crest is yet another look at the war against the Raven Lord, as Blizzard expands upon the Heroes of the Storm lore. After the Battle of Alterac Pass, the Raven Lord now has his eyes set on the Dragon Shire, and with his four generals, he will most likely succeed. These generals are introductions to brand new skins, with epic names to boot, Cursed Witch Whitemane, Spectral Wyrm Alexstrasza, Spider Warden Maiev, and Phantom Knight Zarya. The heroes associated with the new skins are the only ones that can use them in game, being Whitemane, Maiev, Zarya, and Alexstrasza.
There is also a plethora of brand new portraits, sprays, mounts, and banners you can earn during the event, including a Copper Pig Mount that is exclusive to it. In addition, there will be three new announcers that players can acquire, Queen Nightshade, Blackheart, and Lady of the Thorns. Along with all of this comes the seasonal quest, where players can earn special rewards. This time, there are four different questlines to undertake, with the four quests each. Once you complete them, a final questline with the Raven Lord will open up, where you will choose between two quests for the final reward, one of two Tombstone Mounts.
This announcement comes hot off the heels of Blizzard revealing that they will be re -working two heroes that are low on the meta, Brightwing and Kerrigan. Brightwing, a Support Hero, is mostly known for her ability to throw heals on heroes in her immediate area, not offering up much more than that. Her re-work will bring her into the current Support meta, where she will be able to use her abilities with more status affects on the enemies. Kerrigan, an Assassin Hero, is one of the original heroes that launched with the game back in 2015, where she was feared for her Q-W-E combo of doom. She’s fallen in the meta in recent years, so the team is hoping to bring her back to prominence, adding more to her overall kit while not removing her favorite combo.
The Fall of the Kings Crest is currently available to play in the PTR (Public Test Region) until September 24, the day before the event goes live. Brightwing and Kerrigan’s rework are also available to try out in the PTR at this time. The event starts on September 25 and ends on October 15.
