Bioware’s Plan For Anthem Detailed In New Trailer

After two weekends of demo period for everyone to try the game out, one of which that didn’t go well, Bioware has outlined the plan for supporting Anthem after the game’s launch. They also released part 2 of the Anthem Gameplay Series that breaks everything down as well. Check out the video below:

Leveling up in Anthem occurs as you explore the world and complete missions, and levels are measured by a Pilot level. The max level is 30, and after you reach that point, it’s all about upgrading your javelins. This is done by adding higher-level gear. The higher the rarity of the gear, the better it will be, and the harder it is to obtain. You can acquire new and better gear in a variety of ways.

The simplest way is upping the difficulty. You can choose from up to six different difficulties in Anthem. There is Easy, Normal and Hard to start but once you reach the max Pilot level of 30, the Grand Master options are unlocked. There are three levels of Grand Master difficulty, each with a summary of what to expect when you select it so you know what you’re getting into. The higher the difficulty, the better chance you will have at getting the highest rarity gear.

One activity that will become available as you progress and play Anthem are contracts and Legendary Contracts. Different factions within Fort Tarsis will have something for you to do; as you take on and complete contracts, Legendary Contracts will open up. These are multi-part missions that take a lot more work, skill and firepower to complete. But, just like the difficulty options, there may be a better chance at getting better gear.

There will also be daily, weekly, and monthly challenges for players to complete. As you complete these missions, you will get rewarded with crafting materials. Crafting is another way you can level up. As you play, you will gain access to blueprints for gear and personalization items that you can create.

Strongholds are one of the more difficult things that you can accomplish in Anthem. These are longer missions that will have you and your squad pitted against some of the more deadlier enemies in the world of Anthem. These missions require constant communication with your team as everyone tries to get some of the best loot in the game.

Freeplay is yet another option that you can do to get better gear. Every mission type can be accessed from this free-roaming mode. There will also be world events that occur as you explore the map, another opportunity to gather crafting materials as well.

Lastly, Cataclysms will be coming to the game. These world events will cause physical changes to the world like extreme weather and changes to the landscape. You will have to face dangerous new enemies and solve new mysteries. Participating in these events will earn you some mysterious rewards.

Anthem‘s new content, features, and quality-of-life fixes will be delivered in a series of updates that are called “Acts”. Act 1 will begin in March. Anthem launches on February 22 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Those with either EA or Origin Access can start playing on February 15.
