Bioware Outlines The Differences Between The Demo & Full Game Version Of Anthem

Bioware’s Mark Darrah, who is the executive producer of Anthem, has provided some details on what players can expect from the upcoming demo of the upcoming game. He goes into details on what will be in the demo and how it will differ from the full version of the game when it releases next month. Mark responded to some questions on Twitter about the differences:

While some demos will start you at the beginning of the game, Anthem won’t. The demo will take place in the middle of the main story. There is access to one story arc, but that’s it. You will not be able to customize what your pilot looks like, but you can pick either a male or female pilot. There will also be no tutorials in the game so you will have to figure things out as you go. If you’ve been interested in the game, you have probably watched or seen either some coverage from site about the game or have seen one of Bioware’s live streams where they break everything down.

This version of Anthem is different than what will be released, which can mean a number of other things. Even though you may see a bug during your time with the demo, it may have already been fixed. The way that the game economy works will be different as well, so whatever rewards you get during the demo may change in the full game. For PC players, the controls may not be as tuned as it will be in the full game. Lastly, some things are named differently between the trial and full versions of the game.

If you would like to try out Anthem before its release, you will have two periods to do so. You can get the VIP demo which will begin on Friday, January 25 and lasts the weekend until January 27. To get the VIP demo, you have to pre-order the game or be a member of either EA or Origin Access. The other period will occur at the beginning of next month, February 1-3. This will be the same demo, only this one is available for everyone to play. Anthem releases on February 22, 2019, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
