With less than a week of time being available, Big Walk has officially hit one million copies, these copies being sold between all three platforms that the game is available on. Not only that, the game very recently released on August 4th of this year, making this a very impressive achievement for the game. This quickly-acquired milestone was announced on Bluesky by the publishers of Big Walk, Panic, who said the following in their post:
In just six days, over one million of you have bought Big Walk, our co-op adventure all about talking and walking. We are so grateful that so many of you are spending time with our game. And we deeply appreciate your fanart, your streams, your stories, and your moments. Thank you for playing.
In this six day time-frame, Big Walk has already broken its first record, a large part of that success being able to be tied to the game’s developers, House House. All the way in September of 2019, Panic officially released Untitled Goose Game alongside House House. Three months after the game’s release, Untitled Goose Game reached one million copies in late December. With that kind of achievement, it’s hardly surprising to see House House and Panic succeed in a similar manner. At the same time, it’s still quite a step up for Big Walk to reach that same number in less than a week’s time.
Big Walk is an online co-op party game that requires players to travel and communicate together. Groups are meant to solve puzzles and traverse alongside one another throughout the journey that Big Walk puts them on. The game promotes players to not just work together, but have fun while doing it. With that sort of recipe, it’s no surprise to see how popular this game has become, and why it’s already sold one million copies so far.
