E3 2019 is only a week away and fans everywhere are couldn’t be more hyped to see the big name titles that they’ve been patiently waiting for. There are many triple-A games set to take the stage this year at the big convention such as Cyberpunk 2077, Marvel’s Avengers, and Final Fantasy VII Remake. However we recently got the confirmation that one big title will unfortunately be missing from the line up at this year’s E3.
Ubisoft, has announced within an official blog post that their long awaited Beyond Good & Evil 2 will not be making an appearance at the show this year. “This year, as we are focusing on core development milestones, we will not be attending E3 2019,.” Although this may come as sad news to many the developer did say that they will be sharing more gameplay and footage and other news “when the time is right.”
This news follows after the announcement made by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot that changes were coming to Beyond Good & Evil 2. He stated that he recently spoke with creative director Michel Ancel about the game taking another direction. “I spoke with Michel last week about it to see where it was going; how we should move in one or another direction, We see the potential of this universe is fantastic, and Michel is really passionate [about it]. It’s going to be fantastic, I think.”
Even though the title won’t be present at E3 this year, Ubisoft does have quite a bit to show during their press conference this year. The recently announced Ghost Recon Breakpoint is confirmed to be there and Ubisoft has also confirmed that they have three unannounced titles to be released within the next fiscal year. There are also rumors of another entry into the Watchdog series being in the works but it isn’t confirmed at this time. Ubisoft’s press conference will take place on Monday, June 10 at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET.
