Bethesda Releases New Trailer and Gameplay Videos For Upcoming Game Prey

Over the last few days Bethesda Studios has dropped a few videos for their upcoming sci-fi  game Prey. The first of the videos is a trailer showing off some of enemies players will be facing throughout the game while the other is a 35 minute long video of the opening gameplay. If you don’t wish to read about the beginning of the game then feel free to stop reading here.

In the first video that shows off the various species types that players will face we learn a bit about the most common enemy, the Mimic. The Mimic has a pretty decent ability that allows it to disguise itself as any inanimate object, enabling it to ambush any unsuspecting poor soul as they walk by. The video shows one turn into a chair while the other turns into a box. One thing that’s notable is that the Mimics had to go up to the object to change into it, so keep an eye out for duplicates of anything on the floor. The video also shows a little bit of the other enemies such as Weavers, Phantoms, and Telepaths. Have a look in the video below and see for yourself.

As the video gets close to its end there is a small picture that shows what the bonus DLC will be for players who opt to pre order the game. If you choose to do so you can expect to get the Cosmonaut Shotgun Pack which includes extra medkits and a kickass golden shotgun. Players will also get starter fabrication materials, recycled shielding chipset, and 3 transfer neuromods.

As for the 35 minute gameplay video, we are shown the very beginning scenes as Morgan Yu begins his journey through the sci-fi world. The video shows some of the abilities that he will be able to use as he makes his way through numerous enemies. Without giving away too much here, we also get a glimpse into the upgrading and crafting mechanics. If you made it this far and don’t want any spoilers then it wouldn’t be wise to watch the video below, within the opening there is a major spoiler.

Prey Comes is set to release on all platforms on May 5th.
