After months of speculation, Nintendo finally revealed the Switch, the console formally known as NX, to the world. Nintendo released quick three-minute trailer giving people a taste of what the console is capable of. In that trailer, Nintendo showed off Skyrim and NBA 2K17 running on the console so presumably, that would mean the games would be coming to the Nintendo Switch. However, when Polygon contacted Bethesda and 2K for clarification they were surprisingly noncommittal about the games’ Switch support.
The two companies even sent similar statements, although they are probably just boilerplate statements. IGN contacted the two publishers as well and got the same response.

It may look like I pasted the same statement twice because I essentially did, the only difference between the two is that 2K used “trailer” instead of “video”. Polygon has reached out to Nintendo for clarification but hasn’t heard back yet. The Know theorizes that Bethesda is being hush-hush because the Skyrim remaster is out next week and Bethesda wants to sell as many units as possible when the game comes out. 2K doesn’t have that rational as the game has been out for a while now.
One thing that the Switch has that the Wii U didn’t is third-party support. Nintendo has already signed on over forty developers for the Switch including Activision, Ubisoft, and From Software. IGN contacted as many developers as they could and compiled their responses. Most of them are boilerplate, with many congratulating Nintendo and saying while they support the console, they have nothing in the works at the moment.
Yves Guillemot, Co-founder, and CEO of Ubisoft, who previously praised the NX continued to gush about the console as well as reaffirm that Just Dance 2017 will be on the console.
With the Nintendo Switch’s unique capacities and design, Nintendo could again redefine the way we play games. The Nintendo Switch is accessible at its core and also seizes on the growing trends of sharing more experiences and playing anywhere at any time. Nintendo’s old rival Sega even made a statement saying what good partners they’ve been over the years. Maybe they forgot about this commercial and this one.
SEGA and Nintendo have been great partners over the years, and we continue to with our support of the Nintendo Switch. We look forward to revealing specific game plans soon, but have nothing further to announce at this time.
Square Enix is no doubt keeping quite about Final Fantasy XV‘s Switch support.

Job J Stauffer Head of Creative Communications at Telltale did say that some of their games would be making an appearance on the new console but wasn’t able to confirm anything at this time.
While we cannot confirm any specific series today, we can share our excitement to soon be bringing our projects to Nintendo Switch. Our dedication to creating emotionally engaging interactive stories that are identical for players using home consoles or on mobile/tablet devices on the go is a perfect fit for Nintendo’s innovative new hardware.

The Switch is slated for a March 2017 release and Nintendo hasn’t confirmed a price for the console yet.
