BANDAI NAMCO Games announced details on its developed and published free-to-play PC fighter Rise of Incarnates. The advance into the beta stage supersedes the alpha, announced in April of this year.
The Rise of Incarnates universe is one where natural disasters leave humanity by a hangnail. Special humans, the Incarnates, with supernatural power derived from mythological beings live among the general population, who fear and marvel at their abilities. Incarnates struggle to find personal identity amongst their combat.
The beta will include four characters from the alpha with its release: Mephistopheles, Lilith, Grim Reaper, and Ares. A fifth character, Brynhildr will be playable on Aug. 13. Players will have two arenas to battle, New York and Paris (the latter to be released on Aug. 13), which will be complete with environmental hazards.
The gameplay will feature both ground and air combat. “Super-moves” and power-ups are also present in the game.
In-game purchases will be utilized for purposes of character customization. Several new features will also be available in the beta, including a non-descript “awakening system,” synthesis of skill cubes to augment fighter ability, and the ability to tag a friend to fight matches with.
The beta has multiple noted improvements from the alpa. Among these, are re-flowed tutorials, more customization options, increased control responsiveness, an improved user interface, and a more prolific set of screen resolution options.
