Game Freak’s upcoming action RPG, Beat of Reincarnation, has reportedly been leaked online days ahead of its release on August 4. These leaks are a result of some players getting access to pirated PC copies of the game that had begun circulating. The reported leak marks yet another pre-launch piracy incident for a high-profile game, something that appears to have become a growing trend for PC releases in 2026.
According to a Kotaku report, copies of the game began appearing on piracy sites roughly three days before launch, or around August 1st. Social media account focused on gaming news, such as Pirat_Nation on X, have also started reporting on this piece of news, amplifying discussion about the reported leaks across online communities. In spite of the reporting, neither Game Freak nor Fictions, the game’s publisher, have made any public statements about the leaks or have confirmed how pirated copies began to circulate. Some members of the community have speculated that the leak could be connected to Beast of Reincarnation‘s preload files, but no evidence supporting this theory officially exists. As of the time of writing this, the source of the leaks remains unknown.

The timing of the reported leaks is of particular significance for Game Freak. The Japanese developer is most well known of its Pokémon franchise, and the studio has rarely departed from the highest-grossing media franchise in existence for large-scale projects. Therefore, Beast of Reincarnation is an ambitious project for its originality alone. On top of that, the game features a darker, photorealistic art style with a focus on action for its combat set in a post-apocalyptic version of Japan. Kota Furushima, the game’s director, has acknowledged that the game’s realistic presentation represents a departure from the studio’s traditional style, stating that it “doesn’t really fit our vibe.” However, he further stated that this breaking of tradition was done in service of the new project’s themes.
Regardless of the leak, Beast of Reincarnation is still scheduled to launch on August 4 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. No official statement has addressed the incident, making it unclear whether the leak will have any impact on the game’s release plans or launch-day experience.
