Battlefield Hardline Beta Begins for PC Users

PC gamers eager to get a first taste of EA’s newest Battlefield entry can do so today, as the Battlefield Hardline closed beta is now open for anyone to play. To do so, one would have to visit this page to sign up.

As an added incentive for signing up, players are rewarded with a unique weapon camo pattern and sight that will be available in their game once it officially launches on October 21. Players will also get a unique dog tag for Battlefield 4 that will be available in July, as well as other unspecified content for Hardline.

More rewards await Beta testers who are willing to work for them. Reaching Rank 10 in the game will unlock a special Battlepack that will be available on launch day, and $1000 in in-game cash will be rewarded to players who enable Facebook sharing when playing Hardline. These two rewards will be available for both PC and PS4 players.

Xbox and PlayStation 3 players will have to be a little more patient to get their taste of Hardline. According to DICE General Manager Karl-Magnus Troedsson, a beta for PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One will come later, and it will not be the same beta as the PC and PS4 one.

Battlefield Hardline is being develoepd by Visceral Games and DICE, with the former handling the single player experience while the latter develops multiplayer. Unlike previous Battlefield games, Hardline will take place in the streets of Los Angeles amidst a fierce battle between the police and criminals.
