EA and DICE officially unveiled Battlefield 6 during today’s livestreamed multiplayer showcase, highlighting a return to fan-favorite features, deeper customization, and a renewed focus on environmental destruction. The game is set to fully launch on October 10, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. One of the core pillars of Battlefield 6 is its destruction system, which has been heavily upgraded for more dynamic and impactful battlefield changes. Buildings crumble, debris flies, and players can now utilize movement enhancements like peeking, leaning, dragging, and reviving downed teammates—adding tactical layers to each encounter.
At launch, Battlefield 6 will feature a variety of multiplayer game modes, including Team Deathmatch, Squad TDM, Domination, King of the Hill, and Escalation. These modes offer a blend of classic, fast-paced combat and strategic, objective-based gameplay designed to suit different playstyles. The class system, a core element of the series, is also making a return due to popular demand. Players will be able to choose between four distinct roles: Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon. Each class comes with its own set of tools and responsibilities, reinforcing teamwork and tactical depth across matches.
Vehicle handling has also been improved, offering more responsive controls and smoother transitions across land, air, and sea units. EA confirmed that nine maps will be available at launch, with more expected to be released post-launch. Another major highlight is the return of Battlefield Portal. Originally introduced in Battlefield 2042, Portal allows players to build and customize their own maps and game modes using powerful in-game tools. The mode now includes server browsers, support for full XP progression, and an emphasis on discovering and sharing community-created content. The system requirements are as follows:
