Bandai Namco Teases New Project, Tagline Prepare to Dine

Bandai Namco, famous for the Dark Souls and Tekken series, has teased that they are working on new project. The teaser trailer for the currently unnamed project is below:

The trailer doesn’t show off much. It looks like it has some anime style art, but at the end, the screen says “PrepareToDine.” The characters in the trailer definitely look like demons, with their red eyes and dark outlines. That could be a reference to the often used slogan for Dark Souls, prepare to die, which if you haven’t played any of the Dark Souls games, you’ll know that there is plenty of dying in the series. It isn’t said what these demonic characters are hungry for, but I bet it’s safe to say that they are hungry for blood, whether it’s figurative or literal, but that’s still just speculation.

An official announcement will be made on April 20, according to the publisher’s official website.

There has been no confirmed link to the Dark Souls games, so it’s unclear if this is an addition to the series, a spin-off or a different entity of its own.

The most recent Dark Souls game was 2016’s Dark Souls IIIThere have been four games in the series, starting with Demon Souls in 2009. There was also a game similar to Dark Souls released called Bloodborne. Last year, a free-to-play game was available on mobile devices called Slashy Souls.

Dark Soul III‘s final DLC chapter, The Ringed City, launched in March. GameStop critic Daniel Starkey said it “ends a little too quickly … but that’s a small knock against what’s otherwise an exceptional send-off.”

It also hasn’t been confirmed which platforms this new project will be for. It’s safe to assume that it will be for PS4, Xbox One and PC, but that still remains to be seen.

I'm a big Pokémon fan, so I'l spend a lot of my time playing that. Other than that, I love sports, particularly the Charlotte Hornets and the Carolina Panthers. No matter how bad the team is, I will always rep them.
