Bandai Namco Announces Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R Release Date

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R will release on all major platforms on September 2 (with the exception of PC, which will release on September 1), according to a tweet made by the game’s official Twitter account yesterday. The remaster will arrive on PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch with 9 additional characters over the original, bringing the total of playable characters to 50. A new trailer for the game revealed that four of the new characters will be Speedwagon, Mariah, Pet Shop, and Diego Brando.

The game’s official Twitter account revealed that a collector’s edition of the game will be available for $100 – $50 more than the base game – and will come with an exclusive statue of Jolyne Cujoh. Several Twitter users were quick to point out, however, that the EU version of the collector’s edition will come with significantly more bonuses than the US version, including a season pass for the game’s first DLC bundle.

The original Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle was a PlayStation 3-exclusive fighting game released in 2013, based on the anime/manga series of the same name (minus the All-Star Battle bit). The goal of the remaster appears to be including characters and stages from its sequel, Eyes of Heaven, a 3D action brawler that departed significantly from All-Star Battle‘s traditional 2D fighter gameplay.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is currently available for pre-order for consoles on Bandai Namco’s official store page, and for PC on the Steam store.
