While many video games today are developed by small teams without access to the same resources as large and experienced companies, the phenomenon was once much more limited. Even with that being the case, however, small developers were still able to create beloved titles for their time, most commonly in browser games such as the Bad Ice Cream series by Nitrome, which had the bonus of being playable almost anywhere and by almost anyone. Now, as part of their effort to revive their classic titles, Nitrome has announced Bad Ice Cream Triple Scoop, a new game that incorporates the three original Bad Ice Cream titles along with new features.
The upcoming definitive collection has most of its information disclosed through the new Steam page and the trailer put out on the official Nitrome YouTube channel. The trailer begins with snow falling onto a beach and giving rise to the Ice Creams in a polished visual style with the same gameplay as the original games, seeing players need to construct lines of ice to block off enemies and break them to reach their objective. The original games featured a variety of terrain elements and enemies to vary the experience as well, which the new game has promised to recapture.
In addition to the returning content, Bad Ice Cream Triple Scoop will also feature new content and updates. In the classic stages, players will be able to go through themed environments with the most frustrating layouts being reworked. The game will also feature new stages that include boss battles and new playable characters. Finally, the game will run in 60 FPS like the other classics the team has worked on.
At the end of the trailer, viewers are encouraged to relive their childhood, bringing in a lot of attention from those who played the game when it was most popular. Bad Ice Cream Triple Scoop is set to release on PC and Nintendo Switch.
