Back 4 Blood Has Been Delayed Until October

Turtle Rock Studio has been busy with their latest project Back 4 Blood. The spiritual successor to the wildly popular Left 4 Dead is still scheduled to launch this year and has already gone through closed alpha, which took place at the end of 2020. Unfortunately, it looks like we’ll have to wait a little bit longer before we get our hands on it. The studio has announced that Back 4 Blood has been delayed until later this year, October 12, a four-month difference. Thankfully, they also revealed that the game will be receiving an open beta test in the Summer, giving us all a chance to see how the game is shaping up before it launches.

As you can see in the tweet above, Turtle Rock Studios states that in order to make Back 4 Blood the “best game it can possibly be at launch” they need a little more time to perfect it. While this delay is a bit of an upset, it’s thankfully only a few months extra for us to wait on. The game was officially revealed during The Game Awards 2020 and immediately got the Left 4 Dead fan base intrigued. Despite the similarities, the game is not considered part of the Left 4 Dead universe. As we already mentioned, the title is considered a spiritual successor, as Turtle Rock is mostly run by former Left 4 Dead developers.

As for the aforementioned open beta, no other information was given in this regard. If anything, it will more than likely have at least one campaign for a four-player co-op, as well as a potential eight-player one. They may even throw in some more of those cards that change up the gameplay, as well as other types of modifiers. Hopefully, we’ll find out more about this open beta as we move closer towards the Summer. Back 4 Blood will officially launch on October 12 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/Series S, and PC.
