Obsidian Entertainment’s next title, Avowed was originally set to release sometime later this year, joining the already packed Fall lineup for Xbox and the Xbox Game Pass holiday release schedule with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Frostpunk 2, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and more. However, that seems to no longer be the case. The Verge and Windows Central is reporting that Avowed is delayed into early 2025.
Microsoft is about to delay Avowed slightly. I’m hearing that Obsidian is about to announce an Avowed delay to early 2025. More on this in Notepad this week: https://t.co/fGfyrowowL pic.twitter.com/35Ng9AqMG3

According to the Verge, an announcement of the delay will be coming soon. Windows Central has corroborated this report as they have heard similar information from their sources.
Windows Central notes that the delay is not because of the current state of the game. The Verge reports that Avowed is in good shape. The issue is the number of games Xbox has scheduled for the Fall. Diablo IV: Vessal of Hatred comes out in October as well as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was delayed from July to November. Avowed was set to release on November 12. Then, there is the release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Xbox has revealed everything we need to know about its Gamescom 2024 plans, and there’s a LOT.
