Atomic Horse Hopes To Open Encourage Conversation With Their New Puzzle-Platformer Lull Aby: Dreamland Adventure

Atomic Horse, a traveling indie gaming company, is preparing for the upcoming launch for their mobile platformer game titled Lull Aby: Dreamland Adventure. Originally based in Russia, the company is comprised of a small team who’ve been creating games since 2012. Their newest project, Lull Aby: Dreamland Adventure, a 2018 Indie Prize Finalist, is said to touch on the sometimes sensitive topic of depression. With previous titles like Celeste, Night in the Woods, and the more recent Sea of Solitude, there has been an increase in representation on the subject of mental health in video games. Through “a charming puzzle adventure with unique game mechanics”, the team appears to also wish to encourage a conversation surrounding the topics of mental health and illness.

Lull Aby: Dreamland Adventure tells the tale of a young girl named Aby who lives with the unconscious guilt from knowing her mother died giving birth to her. As the anniversary of her mother’s birthday draws close, Aby begins experiencing nightmares. Possibly overwhelmed by her feelings, she becomes lost in her own subconscious mind. Accompany Aby on her journey to confront her inner thoughts and feelings and find a way of “freeing herself from the guilt that has absorbed her.”

Players will help Aby to navigate the obstacles of her subconscious by literally building a pathway through it. Certain platforms can exhibit unique properties such as jump block, teleportation, and slowing down Aby. Can you help her find the way out of her nightmare?

Take a look at the recent game trailer posted to the Atomic Horse YouTube channel.

Lull Aby: Dreamland Adventure is expected to launch on mobile devices at the end of the month, July 31st, 2019. The game will be playable on Android and iOS devices. Players can pre-order for the game by visiting either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. According to the studio’s website, the game will also be coming to the Steam Store. More information should be revealed at a later date.

Quick note. Those who pre-purchase the game from the App Store will be able to immediately accompany Aby on her journey come launch day. If you choose to pre-register via the Google Play Store, you will receive a notification once the game becomes available. You will still need to actively download the game in order to access it.

You can visit the Atomic Horse official website for more information on both the studio and Lull Aby: Dreamland Adventure. For news regarding the game’s development and release, be sure to check out the Atomic Horse Twitter page for updates.
