Atlus Registers More Persona 5 Related Domain Name’s, Suggests Incoming Announcements

It seems that revealing Persona 5’s main protagonist, Joker, as surprise additional fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate wasn’t enough for Atlus this year. Multiple domain registrations made by Atlus were discovered recently, and all of them bare the Persona 5 name. Each one has a different letter, which could mean anything at this point, but we have a couple of ideas of what they could end up being. Here are the registered domain names:

  • Persona5R.JP
  • P5S.JP
  • Persona5S.JP
  • Persona5M.JP
  • P5M.JP
  • P5B.JP
  • Persona5B.JP

This isn’t the first time the company has registered website names with the Persona series, as last year they did the same thing for an unannounced game for the franchise. Those games would go on to be Persona 3: Dancing in the Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing in the Starlight, two spinoff rhythm music based games. You can try to visit these websites if you wish, but all you’ll get is a random Japanese website. It’s clear that Atlus is up to something in regards to the Persona series.

Right now the prevailing theory behind the domain name change is that Atlus will soon announce an enhanced version of Persona 5. This isn’t as far fetched as you would think, as the company has a long history of remaking and remastering their older games. Persona 3 and Persona 4 are prime examples, as the former received two different versions; Persona 3 FES for the PlayStation 2 and Persona 3 Portable for the PlayStation Portable, and the latter getting Persona 4 Golden, a complete remake for the PlayStation Vita with additional characters and dungeons.

Persona isn’t the only series getting a remake, as it was revealed last year that Catherine was being completely reworked for the PlayStation 4, titled Catherine: Full Body. On top of that, Joker is going to make an appearance in that game as well, stealing the hearts not only from Nintendo, but Atlus’ other series too. On the topic of Persona, it was also revealed that their will be special anime presentation on December 30, dubbed the Persona 5 The Animation Dark SunIt’s too much of a coincidence for Atlus to be making all of these moves at the same time, therefore it wouldn’t be a huge shock if they made any announcements during or after this anime special.
