Atlas Fallen Has Been Delayed Until August Less Than a Month After the Initial Release Date Reveal

For those who were looking forward to getting their hands on the upcoming Atlas Fallen in the next month, we have some bad news for you. Deck13 and Focus Entertainment have announced that the title has been officially delayed until August 10, 2023. The delay comes a mere 28 days after the studio revealed the May 16 launch date, which is definitely a contender for the fastest date change in video game history. The studio and publisher posted a statement on their Twitter explaining the delay, saying that “We’d love to give the game some extra time which will allow us to deliver the best possible version of Atlas Fallen.”

While that doesn’t explain a whole lot in terms of details, this more or less means that the game needs some more polishing, and therefore some more time before being released to the public. In addition, the studio also mentioned that they will give more information during the early parts of this Summer, including updates, new game footage, and a first look at the title’s co-op gameplay. Obviously something occurred in-between the 28 days that the developer announced the initial release date and this week. However, the delay itself is not terribly long, and considering that the title is essentially almost complete, we can only imagine the polishing needed to finish it will not impede the newly given release date.

Atlas Fallen was originally announced in August 2022, showcasing the brand new IP at the Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023. Sometime after they revealed the original release date, they also unveiled new gameplay trailer which showed us players fighting against literal Gods with elemental-like abilities. The game looks to be a combination of Deck13’s previous two IPs, Lords of the Fallen and The Surge, both of which are inspired by several other facets in the video game industry.

Atlas Fallen will officially launch on August 10, 2023, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/Series S, and PC.
