Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Gets Important Title Update

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was released on November 10 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4|5, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store on Windows PC, Ubisoft+, and Google Stadia. The Assassin’s Creed franchise recently experienced its biggest launch day ever with this latest installment. Ubisoft pushed a Title Update earlier today, their first major update since the launch, (1.0.4) for all major platforms to improve content quality, performance mode introduction, game improvements, and more.

One of the most notable patches in this update is PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players now have the ability to switch between Performance and Quality mode. Switching to Performance mode will allow AC Valhalla to maintain 60 FPS by adapting the resolution and graphic settings. Quality mode will maintain 30 FPS but enables the game to run maximum resolution and graphic settings. Following the update, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will launch with Performance mode enabled while Xbox Series S will be in Quality mode.

For the Gameplay, Combat, and AI Fixes, Ubisoft addressed improved NPC and Boss behaviors across the board. Players were noticing that NPCs did not react to the player stealing, but they will now. Unfortunately, players will no longer experience levitating dogs. Another fix to make stealthily a little more difficult, guards will now hear the impact of dead bodies dropping to the ground. The disguised mode, i.e. the cloak, will now be more effective in distrust areas.

Some of the other miscellaneous fixes were PC VRAM/RAM leakage issues, screen tearing for Xbox Series X|S consoles, updating the cloud save menu, and most importantly, the crowds will now cheer during drinking games. Dicebreaker, a website dedicated to table-top games, also announced that Orlog, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s dice game, will be released as its own physical game in 2021.

For those who have not grabbed a copy of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla yet, GameStop, Walmart, and other stores currently have the game on sale from the initial $60.
