Assassin’s Creed Odyssey January Update Sees New Quests, Items, Options & More

Ubisoft recently detailed everything that’s coming to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in the month of January. One of the bigger things happening this month is Episode 2 of The Legacy Of The First Blade, as well as two new quests in The Lost Tales of Greece. A new endgame creature called Arges is also available to fight for a legendary reward. New items are coming to the game as well as other additional title updates to help provide the best possible experience for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Episode 2 of The Legacy Of The First Blade is called Shadow Heritage, and continues the story from the first episode titled Hunted. The story revolves around an investigation of a blockade by the Order Of The Ancients around the port city in Achaia. During this investigation, you’ll come across a group of stranded citizens being threatened by The Tempest, the commander in charge of the blockade. Shadow Heritage will be available on January 15. There are certain requirements needed to play episode 2; you’ll need to complete the first episode, Hunted, and the Naxos questline, which is in chapter 7 of the main story. You will also need to be at least level 28 to play the second episode of The Legacy Of The First Blade.

The two new quests for The Lost Tales Of Greece are called Daughters of Lalaia and Poet’s Legacy. The Daughters Of Lalaia has players traveling to a village where you will train townspeople and their children to prepare for incoming danger when the men of the village have left for battle. Choices you make during this quest will determine the survival of the village. Poet’s Society is about meeting Greece’s most scandalous poet. You become involved in her performances and learn that she is not what she seems to be.

The creature known as Arges is a legendary cyclops who is also known as the Bright One. If you can defeat this legendary creature, you will get his legendary weapon, the Hammer Of Hephaistos. He can be found on a volcanic island in the Angry Caldera of Arges.

As far as allies are concerned, Aya from Assassin’s Creed Origins is coming to the game as a Legacy Lieutenant. These are found in the Ubisoft Club and are special lieutenants that can be part of your ship crew if you choose. Two new character packs are coming to the game as well: the Dionysos character pack contains a gear set, mount, and a legendary dagger, and later in the month, the Athena pack.

One of the biggest updates coming this month is the new enemy difficulty settings that let you adapt the scaling to your preference. There is a Heavy option where all enemies remain at your level; a Normal option that gives no change; Light provides content two levels below your level; Very Light provides content four levels below your current level. There will be a new vendor and and two more mercenary tiers that’ll be added to the Mercenary Ladder as part of the game’s title update.
