Assassin’s Creed IV Director Discusses Development Problems

According to the developers behind Assassin’s Creed IV, games have expanded beyond the boundaries of the Xbox 360 and the PS3.

Creating this game on the next-generation was apparently a breeze according to game director Ashraf Ismail. The director participated in a Reddit “Ask-Me-Anything” forum earlier today and revealed that the next-gen is more than flashing lights and a sleek design. These machines are as close to a PC without the cost of being a PC; they provide the necessary storage space and ability to handle the immense amount of information thrown at them.

This is an impressive image if we want to get down to it. Here’s a man who has no dog in either fight. He created a game that operates equally on a multitude of consoles. He had no true motivation behind his statement other than a reality that what the next generation really does is outperform those predecessors.

Maybe this seems obvious, it could be true, but the fact remains that we’re seeing a moment where a developer grants us a simple glimpse into what the next-generation will provide and that seems to be something beyond what we could’ve imagined.

Assassin’s Creed IV launched last week on Xbox 360 and PS3 and will arrive on the next-generation consoles on their respective launch days.
