Assassins Creed Fans Plan Farewell Ahead of Ubisoft Multiplayer Shutdown

After Ubisoft revealed they would be ending online support (and multiplayer) for 5 different Assassin’s Creed games, in addition to 10 other titles, some fans on the main Assassin’s Creed subreddit wanted to send the games off in blaze of glory. Thus, u/FarlandsDesign put together a schedule to maximize the number of players on each game’s servers at once, spreading 3 games (Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Revelations, and III) across 6 weekends. As the full Reddit post succinctly states:

Let’s commemorate them with a well-deserved farewell! Here’s the plan.

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, the oldest of the 3, begins the festivities on July 23-24, then again on the 29-30. The games can last for over an hour (or “as long as you can”). The post also states that PC is preferable but Xbox 360 and PS3 are all welcome! The sessions will begin at:

  • 7 PM GMT+0
  • 7 PM GMT-8 (7 PM PDT)
  • 7 PM GMT+

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations continues the celebration over the weekends of August 5-6 and August 12-13. The sessions will begin similarly:

  • 7 PM GMT+0
  • 7 PM GMT-8 (7 PM PDT)
  • 7 PM GMT+7

Assassin’s Creed: III, the most recent entry coming out of 2012, rounds out the bunch through August 19-20 and 26-27. The game times repeat with:

  • 7 PM GMT+0
  • 7 PM GMT-8 (7 PM PDT)
  • 7 PM GMT+7

Of course, the post encourages players to play at any point throughout the next few weeks, but would like to “ensure that each game has a maximum amount of people at different times for different time zones” so there won’t be any issues finding games.

The other titles losing multiplayer include Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Liberation, Driver San Francisco, Far Cry 3, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Rayman Legends, Silent Hunter 5, Space Junkies, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and ZombiU (an old WiiU game). However, it appears that the Far Cry 3 and Assassin’s Creed III remastered editions would not be shut down.

Gaming since I was young, but nothing has held my heart and nostalgia like the many Lego games. Some other favorites include Fallout: New Vegas, Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead Redemption 2, Elden Ring, and pretty much any open world game I can get my hands on.
