“Are You Okay?” Terry’s Gameplay Trailer for Street Fighter 6 Arrives

Are you okay? Are you tired of seeing Terry Bogard yet? No? That’s great news because only about week after Terry’s official reveal trailer for Garou: City of the Wolves, we’re getting the official trailer for Terry Bogard in Street Fighter 6.

Terry arrives via taxi to Street Fighter’s Metro City for his first appearance in a true blue Street Fighter game (and not a crossover) to show the World Warriors how it’s done in South Town. Terry’s moveset consists of all the classics: Crackshoot, Power Wave, Rising Taco, Power Geyser, Burn Knuckle. All the classics are here and they look great in Street Fighter 6’s engine. Most notably however, Terry brings the SNK “dodge” that allows him to move through the opponent as well as projectiles, which has brought some hilarious comparisons about how Terry breaking the rules of physics in Street Fighter.

Alongside Terry’s mechanics, however, there are some very clear examples of love and care when it comes to Street Fighter’s first guest character. Terry has his classic Garou costume as his first alternate, and his intro (and likely his outro and round win poses) change to reflect his change in attire, putting on his signature leather bomber instead of his hat. Also notable is Terry’s stage, the Pao Pao Cafe which has cameos from some characters in the Street Fighter/Final Fight lore like Roxxy in the background, but more notably has Fatal Fury characters such as Joe Higashi and Terry’s love interest Blue Mary.

Overall, Terry’s gameplay trailer looks like a fun adaptation of the character brought from one franchise to another. This isn’t the first time Terry has been handled by the Capcom team but this is the first time he’s been in a mainline Street Fighter game, and he has the distinction of being the first guest character in the franchise proper. So be sure to toss your hats for a future full of Terry in Street Fighter as well as Fatal Fury, and prepare for his release come September 24th.
