Aragami Developer Lince Works To Shut Down In April

Lince Works, a Barcelona-based game developer behind the Aragami franchise, is shutting down. In a recent statement on Twitter, the studio announced that it would be ceasing development of all new projects indefinitely, starting in April.

Lince Works was founded in 2014 and in their 9 years as a company they made Aragami and Aragami 2 in 2021. The studio stated that their closing is due to recent economic struggles.

“…We have been lucky enough to work on what we love for the past nine years, pouring our hearts and souls into creating immersive and entertaining games for you to enjoy,” said Lince Works. “and we are so proud of what we have accomplished. But unfortunately, we have come to the end of our journey. The last couple of years have been particularly difficult as we shifted towards the development of new IPs and a new course for the company. We were ambitious about what we wanted to achieve as a studio, but sadly, although we made good progress, the economic context was not favorable and we ran out of time…”

“…Although we may be closing our doors, the memories and experiences shared with the team and you, our fans, will remain forever. Thank you for being part of our journey and for making it an unforgettable one.”

The studio went on to thank their community for their support over the years and the work of their team behind the Aragami series. They also assured that Aragami and Aragami 2 would remain available across all platforms and that online co-op will remain accessible.

2023 continues to be a stressful time for the tech and game industry. The economic fallout from the pandemic has caused many big tech companies and developers to layoff workers or even shut down entirely. Lince Works has become the latest victim in this tough economic landscape and likely won’t be the last.
