Apple Shares New Details About Apple Arcade At September Event

Today, Apple had their September Event where they detailed and introduced a variety of things. They unveiled the all-new iPad, the Apple Watch Series 5, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and provided new details and information about Apple Arcade, Apple’s game subscription service. Apple Arcade was originally announced earlier this year. It is a premium game subscription service catered for mobile games. Apple Arcade is only available on iOs devices, Mac, and Apple TV. At the event, Apple shared that “Apple Arcade is the only place you can get unlimited access to over 100 groundbreaking, exclusive, new games” made for its devices.

The games will not be available on any other mobile platform or subscription service. An Apple Arcade subscription lets you download and play any Arcade game right from the App Store. The Arcade tab in the App Store lets you get personalized recommendations, watch game trailers, and get editorial content like game guides and sneak peeks. Apple said that “this collection of awesome games covers so many genres and playstyles so everyone in the family can count on finding the games they love on Apple Arcade.”

Apple Arcade is set to launch with over 100 games coming from a variety of developers and publishers. The event showcased three games from Konami, Capcom, and Annapurna Interactive. Konami announced Frogger in Toy Town, Konami announced the new game Shinsekai: Into The Depths, and Annapurna Interactive provided a new look at Sayonara: Wild Hearts. Alongside showcasing these three titles during the event, Apple also announced several other titles that will debut on Apple Arcade.  The service is launching with a free one-month trial and all Arcade games can be played offline. The subscription is part of Family Sharing and will include access for up to six family members. Apple Arcade will be available on September 19 for $4.99 a month.
