Apple Arcade’s INMOST Announces Additional Updates for Summer 2020

Originally released in October 2019 for Apple Arcade, INMOST has become a fan favourite game title. It has won Game of the Year, Best Art Direction, and Best Audio in 2019 and continues to expand on other popular platforms, such as Steam, Humble, GOG, and the Nintendo Switch. As a result, game developers from Hidden Layer Games have announced that INMOST will be on these platforms with various updates coming Summer 2020 (including iOS devices on the App Store).

Some of the updates are already published on Chucklefish’s website: new locations and puzzles, Non-Playable Characters (NPCs), new dialogue, quests, and stories, improved enemies, additional music tracks and sound effects, new visual and sound weather effects depending on the state of the world, improved localization, better touch control scheme for Apple Arcade, and many more listed on the INMOST Publisher Update. “2020 has been full of unexpected hurdles for everyone, and of course has also had a know-on impact in development, QA and submissions, but we really hope you’ll enjoy the final game when it reaches you later this summer.” stated by developers from Hidden Layer Games.

For those who may be unaware, INMOST is a narrative-driven puzzle game, where users may play as three main characters: a Knight who is sworn in the forces of darkness, a man in search of answers, and an adventurous young girl. These characters own separate, yet interconnected, stories, which allow users to uncover the dark landscape through three different perspectives. During the adventure, they will also fight enemies and navigate through deadly traps in order to escape from the dark world. In combination with the game’s dark and adventurous atmosphere, “INMOST is an intimate story of loss and hope that some may find upsetting.”- stated on the INMOST website.

If you are interested in learning more about the game, check out the game’s official website, Chucklefish website for the Publisher Update, and the official Twitter page. The game is also on the App Store for those who are interested in playing the game as soon as possible.
