Skating games have made somewhat of a comeback in recent years with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 setting a new record in sales and other skating games like Skater XL and Skate Story releasing to positive reviews. Well, there is another skating game coming our way called Skate City, and some may have already played it as it was released on the Apple Arcade last September. However, it is now expected to expand to multiple platforms next month.

Skate City was created by Snowman, which some people may recognize as being the developers behind Alto’s Odyssey, and Agens. As can be assumed by the title, Skate City is a skating game complete with a lo-fi atmospheric aesthetic and hundred of cool tricks to pick up and master. Currently, there are three iconic locations to skate through: Los Angeles, Oslo, and Barcelona. However, recently Miami was added as a new location on the iOS version and may be coming later to other platforms. There are two main ways to play – either attempting to complete the over one hundred challenges the game offers or chill out in the Endless Skate mode. If players make a cool run, they can capture the moment through the in-game recording tools available. Players can also customize everything from wheels to shoes to clothes and more and unlock new moves and abilities as they play through the game.
While Skate City is available on iOS devices through Apple’s subscription service, it will be coming to Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on May 6. It will typically cost $14.99, however, on the day of release, it will be on sale for $9.99.
