Anthem Beta Schedule Confirmed By EA

EA has taken to Twitter and confirmed the dates for the upcoming Anthem beta. There will be two beta periods starting on January 25 with the VIP demo; then on February 1, an open demo will be available to the public. Bioware has also detailed how the demo works and whether or not progress will carry over.

The VIP demo is only available if you pre-order Anthem, and you will also have to be either an EA Access member or have a subscription to Origin Access. To show that you got to play the game early, participating will get you an exclusive VIP demo item. The VIP demo will range from January 25-27. On the other hand, the Open Demo is available for anyone who wants to participate and will be from February 1-3. You can experience Anthem just ahead of launch on either the PlayStation 4, Xbox One or the PC.

Players who play the Anthem demo will start at level 10, though Bioware has also confirmed that no saved data will be carried over from the demo to the full game. Anthem was recently shown off during the Game Awards, where a new trailer shows off more of the game’s massive world and reveals what looks to be the villain of the main campaign.

During this time, Bioware also showcased the Legion Of Dawn Edition. This version of the game comes with exclusive armor sets of the different javelins, an exclusive Light of the Legion gun, and access to the VIP demo. The Legion Of Dawn edition is priced at $79.99. Anthem releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on February 22, though members of EA Access and Origin Access can play the game early on February 15.

Anthem is an upcoming third-person shooter that is being developed by Bioware, a game everyone has compared to Destiny since its reveal. Like Destiny, Anthem will be a shared world shooter where you will get rewarded with loot. The game was initially revealed in 2017 with a short teaser before a demo was presented during the Microsoft press conference. It was originally suppose to come out in 2018, but was delayed to 2019.  Last E3, EA dedicated large portion of its press conference to Anthem showcasing a longer demo.

After E3, more information about the game was revealed including details on its story, new trailers, as well as the different milestones that were achieved during development, like the announcement of the game going into Alpha testing. Like so many games today, we’ll have to wait and see how Anthem will turn out when it releases in February.
