Animal Crossing And Sanrio Crossover

Earlier this month Nintendo announced a new Animal Crossing: New Horizons update with special events and items including the Hinamatsuri Festival and Pi Day as well as Super Mario Bros. themed items and clothes. Following this exciting news, Isabelle recently tweeted that Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be receiving an incredibly cute Sanrio crossover. Starting March 18, players will be able to receive special Hello Kitty themed items and clothing and other Sanrio content too.

Sanrio amiibo cards were previously introduced to Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Players could use the cards to receive special Sanrio posters as decorative items. However, in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the Sanrio cards magically bring their respective character to life as a villager on your island.

With each card, there is a Sanrio character featuring their own exclusive items and house that will be added to your island through the amiibo features on the Switch. Each Sanrio Collaboration Pack will contain all six of the characters–Hello Kitty – Rilla, Pompompurin – Marty, Kiki & Lala – Étoile, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, Kerokerokeroppi – Toby–which means players won’t have to worry about collecting them all. After the announcement, fans were quick to show their support and excitement for the re-release of these cards tweeting jokes at Isabelle and asking for more villagers to be allowed on the island.

In order to use these cards, players will need access to the “invite a camper” on their ATM in the Residential Services Building, so they can bring these adorable villagers to their island. The Sanrio Collaboration Packs will be exclusively available at Target in the US and will be pre-orderable. The cards will be released on March 26, 2021.
