Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey New Gameplay and First Year Epic Games Exclusivity

A couple of months ago we first heard from Panache Digital Games about their upcoming project, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. The game takes players through the roots of evolution and the numerous challenges that were faced in order to survive. The game will span over many years as each stage in our species’ development is experienced in what looks to be a beautiful engine.

Ancestors is an open world survival game that is played through a third-person perspective of our ancestors. To keep your clan alive, you’ll need to explore and evolve by making advancements that will help progress as a group and species. Beginning the journey around 10 million years ago in Neogene Africa, Ancestors opens up the endless savanna and clusters, hectic jungle. In any environment there are threats, whether that be other clans or predators lurking nearby like the infamous sabretooth tiger. Check out the newest gameplay shown by Panache, which gives a better idea of what players may experience.

Clans will have to expand their territory into unknown areas, and players will do this by taking control of different individuals. Bonds and dependencies will form between these clan members as new discoveries are made. The most important choices will focus on the evolution of the clan considering the needs of future generations. Players will decide which attributes to learn that will be passed on to their descendants. These choices will drastically change the adventure that each player will embark upon.

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey has no set release date, however, it will launch sometime in 2019 and will exclusively be available on the Epic Games store for one year. Following the year after launch, the Steam Store will pick it up on its roster of games. When it is made available it will be supported on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
