Among Us One-Shot Manga Will Be Released in April 2022

The widely popular deduction video game Among Us is getting its first manga adaptation feature in the Japanese magazine Bessatsu CoroCoro, which will come out in April 2022. News of the manga adaptation was first revealed back in December 2021 in a tweet by H2 Interactive, a Japanese video game publishing company that also published Among Us in Japan. InnerSloth, the creator and developer of Among Us, also confirmed the news on Twitter yesterday.

The Among Us manga, which is being casually referred to as Amanga Us by fans, will be published as a one-shot feature in Bessatsu CoroCoro, meaning that it would most likely feature a story that could be wrapped up in one publication. Bessatsu CoroCoro is Japanese manga and comic magazine that releases issues bi-monthly and is published by Shogakukan. The magazine’s primary target audience is school children and has previously released other manga based on popular video games like Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Pokémon. Bessatsu CoroCoro is considered a sister or branch of CoroCoro Comic, a Japanese magazine that releases issues monthly for its target audience of schoolboys.

As a result of its massive rise in popularity back in 2020, Among Us was able to comfortably venture out of the video game sphere and dabble in different creative areas like this instance with its very own manga adaptation. Most notably, Among Us announced in November 2021 that it would collaborate on unique project with BT21, the same character brand project created by global K-pop sensations BTS in collaboration with LINE Friends, to create special limited-edition merch.

Although there hasn’t been much information yet on the storyline for the Among Us manga or what the comic would be focusing on, international fans will most likely have to wait until the magazine issue gets released to find out more.
