A new game in The Walking Dead franchise has been confirmed by IGN following a significant leak early Thursday morning. AMC and GameMill Entertainment officially announced The Walking Dead: Destinies– a third-person, narrative-driven action-adventure game set in the first four seasons of The Walking Dead TV show. Players take the role of over a dozen characters including series protagonist Rick Grimes and traverse through many iconic locations from the show including Greene farm, the prison, Woodbury, and Atlanta.

In an early report by Dealabs editor billbil-kun, a trademark for the game was reportedly spotted by a Redditor last January in the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Further details on the game were unavailable until recently, shortly before being mostly confirmed by IGN’s official announcement.

Players will need to master each character’s unique abilities, and playstyles and fight against hordes of zombies using limited resources like weapons and ammo. Additionally, players will also need to reinforce their camp and scavenge for supplies to survive the apocalypse.

Outside of resource management, players will be entrenched in the game’s narrative and tasked to  “weave your own path through series events.” According to GameMill Entertainment, players will be able to alter key moments, such as who can live or die, and completely change the outcome of the original storyline.

The Walking Dead: Destinies will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam for a reported price of $49.99. While the leaks allege that the release date is set for November 14, 2023, it currently remains unconfirmed. More information on The Walking Dead: Destinies will be available in the near future.

Caitlyn Taylor: New media and entertainment have been apart of my life since I was very young, and I don't think that interest will ever go away. When I'm bored, I immerse myself in lore videos no matter the length.
