Alleged Nintendo Direct Likely To Still Happen Next Week Despite Rumors

Nintendo Directs have been sparse this year, but according to Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb, one is speculated to happen sometime next week. However, recent events have made the possibility of the rumored Nintendo Direct inconclusive.

At the end of August, Grubb claimed that a Nintendo Direct was to air sometime during the week of September 12. According to Grubb, this alleged Nintendo Direct is to contain a plethora of Zelda-related content. While nothing is currently confirmed, switch versions of Wind Waker HD, Twilight Princess HD, and Breath of the Wild 2 have been rumored to make an appearance. If this Zelda-centric Nintendo Direct is true, it would be a blessing for many Nintendo fans who have been harping for more Zelda-related content.

So it was quite a surprise for many when the rumors for the Direct changed yesterday from an unexpected cause. The sudden passing of the Queen of England, while shocking, was expected by many people across the world for years. What no one expected was the possibility that her death would allegedly delay the rumored Nintendo Direct. Grubb and Managing Editor at GameBeat Mike Minotti tweeted out their surprise at the rumor yesterday.

However, the rumors changed once again. Earlier today Grubb tweeted that the Nintendo Direct for next week is still likely to happen despite the death of The Queen of England. He added that if change were to happen, it would be very minor.

Regardless, there hasn’t been any explicit confirmation from Nintendo about any upcoming directs. Grubb’s rumors are still rumors and fans will have to wait until next week to see if the rumors are accurate.
