All Will Be Revealed Tomorrow, April 22, For The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered With An Official Reveal Set For 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET

Back in 2023, during Microsoft’s legal battle with the FTC, a leak shared roadmap for unannounced projects, including an Oblivion remaster. Earlier this year, it was reported that the game would be revealed and released soon, seemingly out of nowhere. Then last week, everything was all but officially confirmed when screenshots of The Elder Scrolls Remastered leaked on the developer’s website. Now, Bethesda has announced that they will officially reveal the game tomorrow, April 22, at 8 am PT / 11 am ET.

According to the reports from earlier this year, The Elder Scrolls IV: Remastered is a complete visual remake of the game in Unreal Engine 5, and will include gameplay updates with six reworked gameplay systems, such as stamina, blocking, archery, hit reaction, and the HUD.

The remaster’s blocking system is inspired by Souls-like and action games. Sneak icons will now be highlighted and the damage calculation methods have been reworked. The stamina system has been changed to make it less frustrating, making the knockdown that occurs when stamina is depleted more difficult to activate through changes in the calculation methods. Archery was improved to make it more playable and modern in both first and third-person perspectives. Hit reactions have also been added to improve the response to damage inflicted on the player and NPCs. The HUD  is changed to make it easier to understand and more aesthetically appealing to young players.

The images that were leaked online last week included screenshots of both the remake and the original game. According to the details leaked, The Elder Scrolls IV: Remastered will be released for PC, Xbox Series X|S (including Game Pass), and PlayStation 5.

A Deluxe Edition will also be available for purchase. The Deluxe Edition will include bonuses such as extra weapons and horse armor.
