Today, developer Push On and publisher HypeTrain Digital have released a teaser trailer for the game Alkahest. The game is available to wishlist now on PC through Steam, but there has not been an official release date announced as of yet. The game will also be available to play on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S.

The trailer features gameplay footage of the main character leaping and jumping over obstacles as well as using the environment around to combat against the enemy, as well as using a heating object against another one, setting it ablaze. Lastly, the protagonist uses a sword to defeat the last enemy, which is a monstrous creature and not a human. At the very end of the teaser trailer, someone else shoots arrows at the very last enemy before it cuts to black.

Alkahest is a first-person medieval fantasy game where players will engage in close combat, explore different medieval areas, learn alchemy, and more. According to the Steam page, the story that the game is telling revolves around the youngest son of a petty lord. The player, playing the role of the son, will be investigating goblin raids on the county boarder will be the way for him to prove that he can become someone.

Using the environment around the player to combat against enemies and building combos will be the primary gameplay for Alkahest. Players will be able to use alchemical potions, daggers, relics, and more to use in combat against the goblins. Alchemy will also be another primary element to the game, and players will follow different recipes and use the substance a weapon oil, something to throw at enemies, or even drink it– outcomes can be unpredictable according to the description on Steam.

According to the developers themselves, “We strive to create a highly interactive and believable world with semi open-world locations, packed with secrets and adventure. With branching gameplay options, inspired by Dishonored, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Kingdom Come: Deliverance and other genre-defining games.”
