Airship Syndicate Teases New IP Skylight, Reveal Set For The Game Awards 2022

It’s been a few months since Tennocon 2022 took place. During that event we saw developer Airship Syndicate and Digital Extremes together announce brand new free-to-play title that was in development, albeit with no concrete information. Today, Airship Syndicate has teased the project once again, this time providing us with an image of a city that the developer has dubbed “Skylight.” The developer also revealed that the project is codenamed Skylight, which will receive a full unveiling at The Game Awards 2022.

As we already mentioned, there still isn’t a whole lot of details in regards to this new IP. What we do know is that it will be a free-to-play title, and that it’s played in a third-person perspective. Airship Syndicate released some concept art when the project was initially announced at Tennocon 2022, and this piece of art seems to be keeping with that same style. It’s a vibrant, colorful piece that looks like it utilizes both fantasy and sci-fi genres, which could be for a very unique combination.

For those who don’t know, Airship Syndicate is a Texas-based studio that has been working on new titles since it opened in 2017. Their first title, Battle Chasers: Nightwaran RPG with turn based mechanics that was well-received. They then developed Darksiders Genesiswhich was an ARPG spin-off title from the Darksiders franchise, and was also well received. Their most recent title, Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, launched just under year ago, and was an interesting take on the extremely popular MOBA League of Legends, and is notable for launching as a surprise release without having any official day known ahead of time.
