Agents of Mayhem Gets a Final Trailer the Day Before Launch

One day before launch, developer Volition has revealed its final Agents of Mayhem trailer. The game is an open-world, third person action-adventure game and spin-off of its sister series, Saints Row. Agents of Mayhem takes place after a particular ending of Volition’s Saints Row IV expansion, Gat out of Hell.

Agents of Mayhem features the twelve unique agents of the MAYHEM organization (Multinational Agency Hunting Evil Masterminds) and their campaign to defeat the L.E.G.I.O.N. (League of Evil Gentlemen Intent on Obliterating Nations). Players can pick and choose teams of three to complete missions and explore the world: a futuristic Seoul, South Korea, where the game is set.

Each agent has their own special skill set, and as players progress in the game, they can unlock new agents and missions. Because of their distinct personalities, the agents will react to the events of the game differently; nevertheless, all come with a hefty amount of the humor Volition is well-known for incorporating in its games. The agents are as follows: Hollywood, reality tv star and elite agent; Fortune, a sky pirate; Hardtack, a sailor; Braddock, ex-US military; Joule, an engineer; Red Card, the wild card; Oni, a former hitman; Kingpin, a former gang leader; Rama, doctor and hunter; Daisy, a roller skater with a machine gun; Scheherazade, an assassin; and Yeti, a (you guessed it) yeti. Along with its main campaign missions, Agents of Mayhem will include personal missions that expand on the backstory of each agent.

The launch trailer highlights some of the crazy gameplay players can expect from Agents of Mayhem. Each of the agents is showcased with a few of their special abilities and identifying catchphrases, as well as the game’s hardcore, ‘Ghostbusters’-esque “Who You Gonna Call” theme song.

Agents of Mayhem will be available to play tomorrow, August 15th, for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Glenn Carreau: Hi! I'm Glenn: recent college grad specializing in interactive arts and media, writer, game creator and connoisseur, pop culture junkie, and semi-professional fan-artist and blogger. In my free time, I function as an unnecessarily specific gaming encyclopedia. I also play the violin, binge crime/detective procedural shows (still not sure why), and do a large amount of digital painting. I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
