Activision’s Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy has sold well since it’s release this past June. While during post earnings conference with the investors Activision gave some insight on how he game has been performing and also commented on the possibility of more remasters coming from the company. Due to Crash Bandicoot’s success more titles seem much more likely. Responding to a question about the meaning of the recent success of Crash Bandicoot Activision CEO Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg stated
“We knew that there was a passionate audience out there for Crash–full disclosure, myself among them–but we had no idea… it’s hard to tell if that’s a vocal minority or that’s a real mass audience until you put something out there. Crash has surpassed all of our expectations by a pretty wide margin.”
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was the world’s top selling console game in June even though it wasn’t released until the very end of the month. Also it was the top selling game on PSN in the US and in Europe. Hirshberg also argued that Activision is not unfamiliar with remasters. “I think this is just another example of us really listening to our communities and our fans and offering them great content where they want to engage, which is one of our core strategies,”
On August 14, Activison will release another one of it’s classic titles StarCraft: Remastered. This version will have improved graphics, sounds and add features like matchmaking. It will be priced for $15 but the original StarCraft is now free for all who wish to play it.
