Publisher Fireshine Games and developer Weird Beluga Studio has announced in a brand new trailer that their indie 3D action-platformer Duskfade will launch across platforms next year, in 2026. Gematsu shares The title is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Duskfade is set in a world seized by eternal night. Players will assume the role of young Zirian, along with his mechanical cuckoo companion. Your goal is to save Zirian’s sister from the power of a mysterious clocktower that has plunged the land into night saving her from the claws of despair, restoring the fabric of time and uncovering the secret of the master clock makers.
Shared in a press release on Gematsu, Fireshine Games chief marketing officer Sarah Hoeksma says “Duskfade is a gorgeous action-platformer that recalls the classic gameplay of some of our all-time favorite 3D platforming games,” and that “The game’s developer—Weird Beluga—is an immensely talented team, with a wealth of enthusiasm for platformers and an eye for crafting incredible, gorgeous worlds to explore. Were so excited for fans of 3D platformers to discover the wondrous world of Duskfade next year.”
In Duskfade players will jump, dash, grapple, and glide through environments, with development focusing on speed allowing you to chain abilities and cover large distances. Players will explore various realms including ethereal forest, underwater realms, sunlit dunes, and cloudy heights. Weird Beluga Studio Promises a large cast of characters ‘to face down long forgotten foes.’
Weird Beluga Studio have made their game plan clear, that they’ve harkened back to classic 3D action-platformer titles. With the game aesthetic inspiration from titles such as Kingdom Hearts, Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank; It may have found some solid footing with these existing fanbases and with the year progressing steadily it won’t be long until we’re able to try this one for ourselves.
