nDreams, the studio behind Perfect, The Assembly, Gunner, and Danger Goat has released a new trailer for their upcoming game Shooty Fruity. Shooty Fruity is a first-person shooter and job simulation virtual reality title packed with mischievous fruit who want to take over a grocery store.
Being a grocery store clerk may not normally seem like the most exciting job, but when the fruit threatens to attack you and destroy the store things will get a little more interesting. Players take on the role of store clerks in Shooty Fruity and they are responsible for completing everyday tasks such as scanning items for checkout and prepackaging food in different categories as seen in the new trailer. Players can take coffee breaks and choose to chuck the annoying radio across the room while they pass the time.
The job is quick and simple until random fruits start to pop out at any turn, and the store clerk then has to grab the nearest gun off a conveyor belt-like structure to shoot the enemies; the trailer shows angry apples, pomegranates, lemons, oranges and huge watermelons jumping around and attacking the clerk. There are multiple weapons to choose from “including revolvers, shotguns, and bomb launchers, and to get new weaponry, players can visit the “Vendomatic in the employee staff room” and punch in the numbers to purchase their items if they have enough money.
So far players can choose to take on the job of a cashier, food sorter, server and fruit-shooter. The more fruit is shot at, the messier the store gets but luckily an additional clean-up job has not been announced. There will be more jobs to complete upon Shooty Fruity’s launch but nDreams has not revealed anything else at the moment.
When players are not on the floor as a fruit-killing store clerk, they can test their gun skills in shooting, carnival-style mini games that will be unlocked as the game progresses. New content can also be unlocked early through a special promotion; for a limited time, an exploding bear weapon, golden gun skin packs, 3 themes and 5 avatars will be available to those who purchase the game early.
Shooty Fruity will be available for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive VR sets December 19 this year.
