It was announced yesterday by gaming developer Quantic Dream on X formally known as Twitter that the action-adventure game Detroit: Become Human has not only “sold 9 million units” but the game’s community has also reached 1 million players since the start of 2023. The single-player game Detroit: Become Human was released back in 2018. The game can be played on PS4 and Microsoft through Steam.
Detroit: Become Human is a game where “the destiny of mankind and androids is in your hands”. You will play three unique androids named Kara, Connor, and Markus, and “through their” view, “you will get to see a world on the brink of chaos” and possibly the “future”. The choices you make will affect “how the game is played out”. Within this game, there are many possible endings and “thousands of choices”. The androids you play in the game are voiced by actors that you may be familiar with like actors such as “Jessie Williams from Grey’s Anatomy, Take Me Out, Clancy Brown from Carnivale, Lance Henriksen from Aliens, Bryan Dechart from True Blood, and Valorie Curry from Twilight”.
Since its release Detroit: Become Human has received mostly positive reviews. Back in 2021 Detroit: Become Human “had surpassed one million copies sold on Steam” according to Quantic Dream’s financial report from last year. The demo for the game Detroit: Become Human can be downloaded on Steam and the game can be bought on Steam for 60% percent off. The promotion for the 60% percent off ends on January 4th of next year. The gaming developer Quantic Dream has also put out other games aside from Detroit: Become Human such as Beyond Two Souls and Heavy Rain.
It’s been five years since the release of Detroit: Become Human and players still can’t get enough of this game after all this time. Detroit: Become Human is proving that it’s not going anywhere any time soon.
