Most Final Fantasy fans are used to these continuous delays by now. Through all these years of waiting waiting an extra two months is not that big of a deal. This game was scheduled to be released on September 30th, but according to multiple reports and Kotaku, Square Enix spoke with some people on the corporate level of GameStop and saying that the game will now be available on November 29th. After all of these delays the expectations of the end project are substantially high.
According to Kataku a lot of retailers have not been informed of the change quite yet so do not go out calling GameStop and saying they have the wrong date. Also on the site, there are pictures of directions to change the standees in GameStop from the September date to the November ones. As this information was just given over a weekend, retailers should be expected to be told of the change and they will make the changes as the week continues.
Although there will most likely be a lot of outlash over this delay, this delay could be good news rather than bad news. Although the game looked awesome at E3, there are reports that the game was not at its fullest potential from a technical point of view. So these extra two months could allow Square Enix to optimize the game to make it reach that great potential that the fans are expecting and will make it a better game overall.
