Muramasa Rebirth Genroku Legends: A Spirited Seven Nights’ Haunting is a little game with a lot of name, the third of four parts in the Genroku Legends series, and now available for the PS Vita.
Muramasa Rebirth made a splash on the Vita when it first premiered, with critics praising the game for its depthy story and solid mechanics. Since then, several more games have been released building on Vanillaware’s original product, giving more depth to the world with new stories from fresh perspectives, all based on Japanese Legend. These expansion games — known as the Genroku Legends — are all standalone titles in and of themselves, but all take place in the same sidescrolling action-RPG world introduced in the original. The latest of these games is Muramasa Rebirth Genroku Legends: A Spirited Seven Nights’ Haunting; or, simply A Spirited Seven Nights’ Haunting for brevity’s sake.
Arashimaru has a lot on his plate already when his latest assignment arrives. It seems a simple task for a ninja of his caliber at first: kill an official and nab his treasure. Unfortunately for Arashimaru, things become a lot more involved when a group of assassins show up to take him out too, and when gods get involved, well, it’s all downhill from there.
