A data miner on Twitter finds a reference to a new presentation and suggests that a new Pokémon Presents might be coming in August
This news comes from VGC who released an article, with data miner, Centro finding a string of code from the Pokémon mobile game, Pokémon Masters EX. This string of code was found in the games most recent update. According to VGC, they say in their article the string of code is related to an in-game event, which relates to said presentation. This event is supposed to kick of on August 8th. They also note, “Every recent Pokémon Presents presentation has featured a tie-in event in-game, meaning if this leak is accurate, we could see a broadcast on August 8.”
As someone who doesn’t know much about the Pokémon series, I got to say that this is a creative way to announce a presentation. Other games such as Call of Duty started doing this with Activision planning for an in-game reveal of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III on August 2nd.
Currently, there are no new mainline Pokémon games or remakes announced, with Pokémon: Scarlet and Violet being the most recent title in the series, releasing back in November 2022 for the Nintendo Switch, there is new DLC on the way for Scarlet and Violet. Announced back in February 2023, Scarlet and Violet was going to be receiving a two-part DLC expansion which is set to be released in the Fall and Winter of 2023, titled The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. Part 1 which is set for release in the Fall titled The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk in Winter 2023. Both expansions will introduce new and old Pokémon that were not found in the current region, along with legendaries.
With any leak in gaming, it’s never an official announcement. In Centro’s post, one user LeoPrime98 says “I think it’s important that everyone keeps their expectations low,” explaining this could just be a DLC or a new raid. Others who replied to him and the initial post said the same thing or something similar.
