A New Co-op Adventure Game, Lost in Tandem, Will Release in July 2026

While many stories and games focus on the conditions of a post-apocalyptic setting or how the world came to such a state, others focus on the bonds created by such harsh circumstances. This is the main focus of the upcoming co-op adventure game, Lost in Tandem, developed by Tempete Studio and published Juicebox Studios. The game just received a new trailer that ends by revealing a close-approaching release window.

Lost in Tandem is an asymmetrical co-op experience between a lone survivor girl and a rebooted Mech-ute with a mysterious past. The robot has lost most of its memory and function, causing it to be unable to explain the exact nature of its mission beyond traveling to a set of coordinates, which kickstarts the rest of the adventure through the destroyed world. The trailer showcases 2D exploration across houses and other remnants of human society overcome by greenery.

While traversing, players will face challenges and puzzles that will require each character’s specific attributes to be used. In one example toward the middle of the trailer, players must position a log to use as a seesaw so the Mech-ute’s high weight can propel the girl to another platform. In another, the girl needs to use her laser to open a door in a space that’s inaccessible to someone so big. The Steam page also reveals that players will be able to unlock new abilities for the Mech-ute while piloting it. Rather than control both characters, players can also work with a friend in local co-op, dividing up the tasks evenly between them.

The trailer ends by establishing that in addition to need one another to progress in the gameplay, the two characters will come to rely on each other in the story too. Lost in Tandem is set to release in July 2026 to PC.
