A Cinematic “Twist Of Fate” for League of Legends

Over at Shanghai, the five regions pit their All-Star team in the League of Legends front in order to gain dominance and the title as the end of season world champions. Over these three days the regional all-stars teams will duke it out in a best of three match and,  in addition to the All-Stars matches, there will also be a series of All-Star skills competitions between games.

League of Legends is a team game played by individuals. For the first time, the All-Star Event features a showdown between players of the game’s five primary roles. With a custom map and victory conditions for both 1v1 and 2v2 duels, the All-Star Skills Competition ratchets up the tension and delivers the drama.”

Each of these skill competitions will be a best of one and will be decided by the first player to kill 100 minions, destroy the enemy turret, or score first blood. Each game will also be streamed in a multitude of Languages – English, Korean, French, Russian, Turkish, Portuguese, Spanish, Polish, Vietnamese, and Thai.

What a lot of fans were excited to witness, not only the competitive scene of the game duking it out, is the release of a new computer generated trailer. Fans of the series will gawk and awe at how amazing a treat to the gaming community it is.

“At Riot, we love cinematics and we know many of you do too. For the last year or so, we’ve been hard at work bringing a new cinematic to life. We know it’s been awhile since we unveiled anything like this.

The fascinating thing about working in a cinematic format is that it allows us to get up close and personal with our champions without the constraints of the frenetic, action-packed, moment-to-moment gameplay of League of Legends. Realizing the champions in such high fidelity challenges us in different ways, and when it all comes together the result is really powerful. Team members across the company pitched in to make sure we stayed true to the game’s iconic personalities. You might even notice a cameo by one of your favorite skins, or a nightmarish interpretation of Baron Nashor. From Annie’s bear, Tibbers, to Garen’s trademark spin, you’ll see how some League classics became fully-realized in CG.”
