A Boy And His Blob Retro Collection Coming For PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, & PC

Publisher Ziggurat Interactive has revealed that A Boy and His Blob Retro Collection is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The Collection features two games, A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia for the Nintendo Entertainment System and The Rescue of Princess Blobette for the Gameboy.

In A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia, Blob has come from the distant planet Blobolonia in search of an earth boy to help him save his world. Players will get to join him on a fantastic adventure in mysterious caverns beneath the earth searching for treasures. Then travel to Blobolonia to battle the evil emperor. Discover Blob’s amazing appetite for jellybeans, and the different transformations that occur with each favor. Learn to use these shapes to overcome even the most outrageous obstacles. A Boy and His Blob is a fantastic journey filled with constant surprises and humorous characters.

In  The Rescue of Princess Blobette, Blob and his faithful Earth-boy is back companion are back in a brand-new adventure! This time out, the duo’s exploits take them to the Royal Castle of Blobolina, Blob’s home planet, as they attempt to free the lovely – and imprisoned – Princes Blobette from the clutches of the treacherous Antagonistic Alchemist. Join our heroes as they encounter secret rooms, clever traps, and dangerous obstacles in the labyrinthe depths of the castle. But all is not lost- these two share a very special secret. With each flavor of jelly bean the boy feed Blob, Blob will magically transform into a different shape that can help this intrepid pair get past just about anything the Alchemist can conjure up!

This collection and other beloved retro games such as Bill & Ted’s Excellent Retro Collection, Rendering Ranger R-2, Shante, and River City Girls Zero are coming back to find a second-life on modern consoles thanks to the Carbon Engine, an emulation and development tool created by Limited Run Games. Now, legacy content from rare and classic titles can be ported to modern platforms.
